In my field of canine work I get asked from time to time "Why do dogs eat poop?"
My personal theory is simple on this one:
- Because they can
- Something is lacking in their diet
- Boredom/Anxiety/Frustration
How to stop the dog from eating poop:
- Be poop diligent - Pick up their poop immediately thus not giving them the opportunity.
- Re-evaluate your dogs diet; feed them real food, get rid of the commercial kibble, it’s evil. Give healthy treats to your dog e.g. apples, carrots, raw beef bone, etc.
- Walk your dog every single day, give your dogs lots of doggie toys and give your dog socializing playtime with other dogs.
- Hire an animal communicator to ask your dog that very question and see what answers they come up with! You might be surprised!
